InstaLay peel-and-stick underlays are manufactured by Van Dyck under license for InstaFloor, a UK division of the Instacoustic group of companies. InstaLay is a range of self-adhesive cushion underlays that can be used under carpeted floors, vinyl sheeting and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT’s), timber and laminate floors.
Manufactured from recycled rubber crumb, these underlays are non-collapsing and 100% rebound, and are themselves fully recyclable. The peel-and-stick system eases installation without adding installation challenges such as the wrong adhesive being used or late placement and, because no adhesives are required, there is no flash-off time needed.
This design of underlay provides high-quality comfort, stability and performance, as well as reducing fatigue and improving acoustics. It is health and safety compliant and, because it is porous, it transfers heat very well when used with floor heating systems.
The main Advantages of InstaLay:
- InstaLay reduces sub-floor preparation
- Enhances acoustic performance
- Provides ant-fatigue cushioning
- Eliminates wet adhesives all together
- Reduces installation time
- Compatible with under floor heating
- Covered by a 10 year guarantee, proving installers with a total peace of mind.

We are proud to announce our strategic partnership with Easigrass, the fastest growing and award winning suppliers of artificial lawns.
Easigrass is reputed to be the first and only artificial grass company to have achieved a Gold medal at the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show for its exceptional show garden demonstrating the many uses for the product. The full range of Easigrass products is now available across the whole of South Africa.
Easigrass are an international brand that is based in the UK. They are committed to supplying the best quality artificial grass products across the world. They have supplied grass products to top class restaurants, beautiful residential gardens, international events and Premiership soccer clubs.
Over the years the company has built a reputation not just for offering the highest quality artificial grass with 8 years guarantee but also superb customer service and world class installation and it is this very reputation that Easigrass South Africa and all its franchisees will aim to uphold.
Easigrass South Africa was officially launched at The Gardener Live Show staged by The Gardener Magazine at the Pretoria National Botanic Gardens in March 2013. Easigrass South Africa was invited to partake in the activities.
Easigrass was amongst landscapers and many people in the green industry. We had on display what has now become one of our most popular Easigrass marketing tools, the Easi Bug along a mother rhino with a baby rhino covered fully in Easigrass turf. The purpose of the rhino was to draw your awareness to the Save the Rhino Foundation which we have committed ourselves to supporting.
For every linear metre sold of Easigrass products, R10 is donated to the Save the Rhino Foundation.
We are counting on everyone’s support for the success of this cause.
We are pleased to add another exciting new product to our already impressive Van Dyck Collection.
Just as the tropical surface winds that have been used by captains of sailing ships for many centuries to cross the world’s oceans, this new product is just as timeless.
It is a very fresh, contemporary and trendy looking carpet with very natural colours.
Trade Winds is a locally manufactured tufted broadloom product that is suitable for both residential and light commercial use. It is made of 100% BCF Stain shield yarn (with stain shield fibre protection) and a POWERbac backing.
We are delighted to inform you that we just received the test results from our first production trials back from Germany, and as expected these trials were extremely successful.
We are therefore now ready to take Silver Plus to the next level and we will start applying this on new production runs. As a first step, we will start applying Silver Plus on all our nylon broadloom products, with the other products to follow shortly.
You will understand that most of our current stock doesn’t have the Silver Plus anti-microbial treatment yet, and we therefore kindly ask you to contact our customer service when you want stock of the Silver Plus treated carpets only.
We are confident however that before the end of the year the majority of our nylon broadloom stocks will have the Silver Plus applied to it, and thank you in advance for your kind cooperation and support.
We would like to remind you of the main benefits of Silverplus.
MAIN BENEFITS OF SILVERPLUS®
- Due to its large active surface, SILVERPLUS® is effective in very small quantities. Already 1 ppb of mobile silver ions can inhibit bacterial cell growth significantly. Hence silver ions in SILVERPLUS® are more efficient by far than other antimicrobial products. This is reflected in the low application quantities of SILVERPLUS®. Small silver ions – big effect!
- The antimicrobial effect remains fully functional during the lifetime of the carpet. SILVERPLUS® deposits in the yarn interstices and is permanently bonded by strong adhesive force which cannot be removed even after multiple cleaning sessions.
- SILVERPLUS® is compatible with water, oil and soil-repellent finishes, which means that there is a double protection mechanism in place. The first protection by making sure that spills are not penetrating into the carpet, and the second one by having SILVERPLUS® as an anti-microbial protection.
- The use of SILVERPLUS® has been shown to have no negative effects to the environment. The quantities of silver which SILVERPLUS® returns to nature correspond to the average natural silver content of natural soil or rocks.
NOTE: We refer to our previous electronic newsletter of 17 August 2012, in which we informed you that we were proud to introduce Silver Plus on our carpets to give them the ultimate anti-bacterial protection to ensure a healthier environment to the customers we serve.

First and foremost, a carpet is a safe, cost-effective flooring choice for virtually any indoor setting. It doesn’t just ease foot and leg fatigue but also reduces the number of slip and fall injuries. All Van Dyck carpets have a very low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emission rate which means that no irritation or discomfort is expected. In the manufacturing process no formaldehyde content is used and because of their anti-mould growth, rot-proof and anti-microbial treatments, all Van Dyck carpets have no microbial VOCs. Above that, Van Dyck is a proud member of the Green Building Council of South Africa. We also have an Environmental Management System that ensures responsible manufacturing as we focus on the use of recycled materials instead of using virgin material. Van Dyck also has a range of Eco-lay underlays which are made from 100% post-consumer recycled rubber and are fully recyclable. Most of our products are made locally reducing the impact of transportation on the environment and are well known for their superior and lasting performance. The lesser replacements minimise the impact on the environment. All Van Dyck carpets have built-in thermal properties assisting the overall thermal comfort of a home or building with reduced energy efforts. This doesn’t only benefit our environment but also helps keep our health issues at bay. Read More »
